I am a self-taught photographer, and my father, a career magazine photographer and graphic artist, has mentored me throughout my artistic journey. Driven by my love for the art, I work with a variety of subjects, techniques and equipment. My work has been shown and published in the U.S. and abroad.
I believe that everything around us, all that we can see, has a certain quality about it, an essence - the French phrase "je ne sai quoi" - "I do not know what"; "that which I cannot describe" begins to approach a description of it, as does the concept of the treeness, if you will, of a tree. As a photographer, I strive to capture and hopefully portray that essence, quality, and aspect of that which I shoot, and then share it with you, the observer. If I knew how to do it perfectly, I'd do it every time; for me, the joy and thrill of photography is much the same as the thrill of the chase.
A recent transplant to Boston from central Pennsylvania, I wish to share my passion for photography, and a fresh vision of both grand and everyday scenes that usually go unnoticed or perhaps underappreciated.
